Club spokesman Ernest Mbalanya said that Mbaraki Sports Club ground has been closed down for renovations, but that they have also opted to travel to Nairobi for preseason training in order to be in top shape ahead of the continental tournament.“Our home ground will not be able to host the CAF Confederations Cup because the pitch has not been approved by CAF. In fact, it has been shut down temporarily for renovations,” he said.
“The coach (Twahir Muhiddin) also suggested that the team travel to Nairobi where the altitude is higher than Mombasa so that the players won’t struggle much during the continental showdown and the management agreed that it was a valid suggestion,” he said.
Bandari will be making their first appearance on the continent scene and bullish Muhiddin said they were up to the task.“I started featuring in CAF competitions in 1989.
