David King’atua scores a brace to lead Bandari past Thika United

Thika could not take advantage of home ground advantage but all credit should go to a solid performance from the coastal visitors.Thika started the brighter side, club top scorer Ray Omondi putting them ahead on 22 minutes when he capitalized on confusion in the box to send the ball past Bandari goalkeeper Wilson Oburu, who had returned to the starting lineup after sitting out the previous match. This was Omondi’s seventh goal of the season.
But Twahir Muhiddin’s boys did not take long to recover and in the 36th minute, former Thika United boy David King’atua received a cross from former Gor Mahia midfielder Shabaan Kenga to put the ball behind the net for the first of his two goals. The dockers suffered a setback in the 61st minute when Alfred Oluoch was sent off for his second bookable offence. But even with 10 men Bandari showed that more hunger for a win and they duly got it three minutes to the end, King’tua sending his free kick gliding into the net. www.kpl.co.ke
