Match Report Against Tusker

Tusker FC registered a 2-0 win over Bandari at Mbaraki Sports Club on Saturday 5th in a Kenya Premier League match thanks to Brian Osumba’s brace in the second half.

The visitors had a good start pinning Bandari to their own half. The best chance in the opening early exchanges of the game came in the 7th minute as Jackson Macharia missed a chance of putting his side ahead after receiving a beautiful pass from Timothy Otieno.

Early booking

Marlon Tangauzi became the first player to enter in the book of the referee in the 18th minute for foul on Hassan Abdallah.

Matano’s men started to settle well in the game after absorbing early pressure, Shaban Kenga had the best chance for the home side in the 21st minute after receiving a pass from Abdallah but his effort went wide. Tusker responded two minutes later, Mathiew Odongo had the ball on flanks, delivering a searching cross which met Brian Osumba but his strike hit the post. The Breweries continued to command the midfield with Brian Osumba and Peter Nzuki taking full charge of the game.

Tangauzi, who had a yellow, fouled Kenga in the 33rd minute with the resulting free kick being taken by Meja but Ochieng stepped in to rescue Tusker.

Injury Scare

In the second half, Magige went down after a challenge from Wahome which left him injured. After a series of treatment Magige was back in the pitch.

Subs

Tusker made their first substitution of the game in the 54th minute, as Amos Asembeka came in for Jackson Macharia. Mathew Odongo was also taken off and replaced by Khamati. The new substitute Asembeke had a chance to be in the headlines as he misses clear chance, missing to grab the opener from Khamati’s pass.

Opener

A minute later, Khamati received the ball on the wing, delivering a cross which met Osumba, who made no mistake and put the ball behind Shikhalo to give the visitors lead.

Bandari made their first change of the game, with Shaban Kenga paving way for Mohammed Siraj. Yellow carded Magige was also taken off for Agade.

Bandari made their final sub with two minutes remaining, Akenga replaced Oguya. A minute after coming in, Akenga missed a golden chance of leveling his side, he received a pass from Siraj but his effort was saved by Ochieng.

The home side continued to press in search for an equalizer, but in the injury time, Osumba broke hearts of Bandari fans, as he netted his second goal of the game. He was substituted a minute later after having delivered with Justin Omary taking his place.

Red Card

Eric Ambinya was sent off in the final stages of the game after he receiving the second yellow for foul on Hassan Abdallah.
