TUSKER SINK WITH THE BANDARI WAVE

The lads and the team had been preparing a lot to make the team perform better!

New signing Cosmas Lewis scored the winner and was sent off as Bandari pipped reigning Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Tusker FC 1-0 in a match played at the Kinoru Stadium in Meru on Sunday 2 July.

Bandari had done their homework and Lewis scored in the 27th minute, Duncan Otewa delivering an inviting cross into the box that Marlon Tangauzi failed deal with, the new acquisition tapping in what was to be the crucial goal.

Second half

Tusker introduced new signing Boniface Muchiri for Brian Osumba soon after the restart as they continued to pile on the pressure in search of the equalizer. Noah Wafula missed a clear cut chance five minutes later and was rested for Clifford Alwanga.

Cosmas Lewis was having a good game and almost grabbed a brace; cutting in beautifully from the right but placing his shot wide. He did the same thing again a few minutes later, his curving shot going inches wide. He was soon after booked for dissent.

Tusker introduced Mike Khamati for Allan Wanga in the 81st minute in an obvious attempt to boost their forward line  while Bandari brought in Wilberforce Lugogo for Darius Msagha in the 83rd minute.

Luvutsi straight red card

Bandari’s Michael Luvutsi was shown a straight red card for physically assaulting Boniface Muchiri and Jackson Macharia in the 90th minute. He was reacting to a bad foul by Boniface Muchiri and the resulting chaos saw the game interrupted for close to two minutes. Bandari brought in Shaban Kenga for Baron Oketch as they continued to defend their slim lead.

Cosmas was however sent off for a second bookable offence as Bandari went back to the Coast with maximum points.
